Have you ever avoided going to the dentist because of fear, a bad experience, or pain? At our office we understand those feelings and want to help. Our sedation options provide you maximum comfort before, during and after any procedure reducing or eliminating pain and fear.

During your procedure, one or more of the following methods may be used to provide a relaxing and calming experience: local anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Commonly, patients describe their feelings during procedures as comfortable and surprisingly pleasant.

Our general anesthesia:

  • Reduces anxiety in patients.
  • Leaves patients with no memory of the procedure.
  • Facilitates the surgery allowing for quick recovery.

Candidates for IV sedation/general anesthesia include people who have:

  • High Fear.
  • Had traumatic dental experiences.
  • Difficulty getting numb.
  • A bad gag reflex.
  • Very sensitive teeth.
  • A fear of needles and shots.
  • An aversion to the noises, smells and tastes associated with dental care.
  • Embarrassment about their teeth.

Our doctors are board certified to administer IV sedation to adult and pediatric patients. When performed under the direction of a practiced, board certified oral surgeon, this method is extremely predictable and safe for patients. Although our surgeons undergo extensive anesthesia training, True Bite is unique in that we have an on-site board certified anesthesiologist which allows us to provide more complex surgical procedures, safely treating pediatric patients (including those with special needs). In addition, our facility underwent a thorough evaluation by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) and has received The Gold Seal of Approval – an internationally recognized symbol for quality and safety. When you choose an accredited facility, you choose oral surgeons and staff dedicated to providing patients with high-quality, advanced care in a safe environment.
